Custom objects properties and Active Lists

SOLVE

Hi

I have created a new custom object and associated it with Contacts.

I want to create an Active List using the value of a particular Property of this Custom Object to populate the list.

But Custom Object properties do not seem to be available to use for this purpose.

Is this correct, what do I do?!

Hi @SimonNQ ,

This was introduced with the May 2021 product updates: https://www.hubspot.com/product-updates/may-2021-hubspot-updates-in-less-time-than-a-coffee-break, see "Custom Object Filters in Lists". You should now see your custom object among the list filter families.

If this quick update was useful, you can help the community by marking it as a solution.

I can't find "Custom Object Filters in Lists" in the link that you provided.  What am I missing?

Hi @LoraBergeron,

This information has since been removed. Why that is I don't know. HubSpot support let me know that this feature is being rolled out step by step into customer portals.

Best regards!

Yes. You can add Custom Object properties to Active list filters now.

Actually, no I can't ... I've looked at creating either a Company List or a Contact list and there is no way of pulling in a custom object that is linked to the Company object.

Are you not able to see it here?

No, I'm looking to build a list off of a custom object that is attached to the company object. I see the company properties but I don't see the custom object that is supposed to be attached to the company property.

The custom object is marketshare data so I want to filter as follows:

  Contact         Company           Custom Object
All contacts -> at companies -> who have at least 50% SOM

Hi @thomas25,

HubSpot confirmed that custom object properties can currently not be used as filters in active lists. (I haven't come across any workarounds.)

There is a request in the HubSpot Ideas section of the community. You can upvote the post and leave a comment, the product reviews these suggestions.
