Copying a Contact property to only ONE of the associated Deals

Hey guys!

Just sharing this on behalf of a client. 

We're trying to copy a set of Contact properties to Deals. My issue is that we only want to copy the value over to certain deals - newly created deals (so not all associated deals). 

I'm pretty sure it's not possible, but I just want to confirm first that I'm not missing anything and that I did explore all my options.

Correct, it's currently not possible to only reference the newest deal from a contact-based workflow. At the moment, there are two workarounds, none of which are satisfactory however:

• Using association labels. If the deal owners make sure that every new deal is labeled accordingly, then this label can be referenced in workflows. (I expect that we'll be able to set association labels within workflows in the future which would make this a viable solution.)
• Using custom code actions in Operations Hub Professional. The approach here would be to add a copy action that only updates deals which meet certain requirements.
