My team is in the integration process with Marketing Hub and we're having trouble understanding how to connect newsletter subscribers from the website to a workflow that drops the contact information into a specific list. We have 5 separate business units that are connected to Marketing Hub. How do we ensure that contacts get placed into the email list that is associated with that specific business unit?
You don't need lists for subscriptions with Hubspot. If you have a form (assuming GDPR opt in) that will add a contact to a subscription without a workflow and then you can email someone that subscription type. However, each form can only add someone to one subscription type. So if the business units are all operating independently and you do not do a global company communication newsletter, then you probably need to set things up that way.
Otherwise you could subscribe everyone to a single newsletter subscription and tailor the content based on their interest, but to do that you would need to collect an identifier to add them to that particular interest group. Whether this be as simple as checkboxes, or more complex.
