I am in the process of deactivating a user with the goal of eventually removing them from our portal. I am reviewing the assets owned by that user and a workflow was one of them. I don't see a way for me to change the owner of a workflow.
I see the option to assign to a team, but that is just a visibility setting, and it doesn't remove the workflow from the deactivated user's asset list. Just like I can change the owner of a contact or deal, I would think that there should be an option to change the owner of a workflow so that someone else can be responsible for the asset after the original creator/user is removed.
Workflows don't have owners, they have users who created them and/or change them. So there is now way to re-assign ownership as that concept does not exist in HubSpot.
Once you deactivate/deleted the user it will simply say "deactivated/deleted user" in the workflow create field but the workflow will remain.
