Change contact status based on email clicks

SOLVE

Hi,

Looking to create a workflow where we will send an opt-in email and then if someone does not click to manage preferences, unsubscribe them as a marketing contact (to keep our contacts under control).

I found an older thread that talked about an if/then branch, but I'm not seeing that in Hubspot today.

Many thanks for any help.

@MManson branch criteria look good 🙂

Before unleashing this on your contact database, I recommend you limit enrollment to the email address of a test contact and have one test contact stay opted into one subscription type and one contact opting out of.

If all looks good, turn it on for all eligible contacts.

Hope my replies helped you! If you want others to find this type of information more easily, please accept the replies that helped you as accepted solutions. I'd appreciate it very much, too.

Have a great day!

@MManson It does - could you share a screenshot if the branch criteria, too? (If you want.)

Hi @MManson,

Are you sure you want to use an email click here as an indicator? They might click to then opt out of each subscription type, for example.

I would probably send this email in the workflow, then add a 7 day delay (can't expect anything after that) and then add a branch, correct. You should see the branch option right next to the delay button (after clicking the + icon, the left sidebar opens and branches can be added through one of the tiles at the very top).

Choose an and/or branch, then, under email subscriptions, check whether the contact has at least one opt in (opted into subscription 1 or opted into subscription 2 or etc). If they do, keep them as marketing contact or unchanged. If they don't (right/red branch) mark them as non marketing contact.

If you're getting stuck l, share a screenshot of your workflow and I can point out what to do next.

Best regards!

PS. If you insist on the click, you can of course also check for the click in the branch.
