We are in the process of implementing a lead scoring system and want to cap scores per activity per session. Does anyone know of a way to do this?
I.e. we want to assign a user X points each time they submit a particular type of form but want to control how many points they can gain through this activity in a single session on our website, otherwise they could download 10+ forms in one session and their lead score will sky rocket and not accurately reflect their genuine status in the lead nurturing process.
When you create the lead score property for form submission, you can refine by the number of times form submissions have been completed and choose "at most" for the number of times.

Capping Lead Scores per activity and session
lösung
Dunno of a way to 'cap' lead scores per session. However, you can use a combination of positive and negative attributes around specific form submissions using the 'LESS THAN 1 DAY AGO' filter to get you very close to your goal.
In the example below, single form submissions accumulate no penalty. However, multiple specific form submissions 'LESS THAN 1 DAY AGO' are appropriately penalized. - see image
HubSpot Manual Lead Scoring
Thing is, is it worth the effort and resulting complexity?
If you're a Marketing Pro user, you'll quickly overcomplicate your single default HubSpot score property. If you're an Enterprise user, you may build up to 25 separate score properties and use one or more just to manage these sorts of excessive forms submissions. - see Set up score properties to qualify contacts
How you chose to proceed will depend heavily on the amount of time you wish to spend on lead score testing, maintenance, and ... fixing it when it breaks and the sales team comes gunning for you. 😉
Good luck.
