Any creative ideas for incrementing a date field or setting it for X days in the future?
SOLVE
We have a date field that we need to set to a future date based on a form response. We'll call it "Expiration Date" and let's say we want to set it to a year from when the form is submitted.
Using a workflow, there doesn't seem to be a way to set the date to anything other than the date the action occurred or a hard-coded date. Incrementing a propery only works on numeric fields, not date fields. And date fields also can't be used in conjunction with Calculation fields.
We need the actual date to be populated in the field so we can see future Expiration Dates - we can't just have the contact sitting in a workflow for a year.
Any creative solutions (or add-ons/plugins) for populating a relative date or incrementing a date? This should be simple and I hope I'm missing something obvious.
As you've described the "out of the box" technique would be to set a delay in the workflow – wait 365 days – then change the property.
For one of our clients (we're a Gold HubSpot Agency based in New Zealand) we created an app that sets dates, membership status and other relevent information in the Contact, Company and Deal. This meant we could also use the properties to create renewal lists, active members, etc.
