Adding drop down and renaming existing values

lösung

We had 2 groups for 2 different newsletters. We previously just had an X for those contacts to receive a certain newsletter. We have now added a drop down menu with 3 options - YES, NO, CANCEL. What is now the quickest way to change all the Xs to a YES and the previous blanks to a NO.

Adding drop down and renaming existing values

Hi AMJoller!

Was the previous field you mentioned with the "X" a dropdown field as well or a "checkbox" field?

If the old field was a dropdown field you could add the new values you mentioned as additional values to the original field. Once you add them,  you can "merge" the "X" value with the new "YES" value by checking the box next to each value then clicking "merge" and that will change all of the existing "X" contacts to "YES." (Just be sure to select the new value as the value to merge into)

If the old field was a checkbox field, you can create a workflow to set the value of the new field to "YES" if the old field was set to "YES" and set the new field to "NO" if the new field was "Unknown." Here's an example workflow below:

You could also do this via import as well. Let me know if this helps.

Hi Mike

Thanks for the help. I haven't had time to try out your suggestion before. Finally got around to it today and merging of the values worked great.
