Add sales email clicks, opens, etc, to lead scoring

I want to add scores within lead scoring for sales emails that are clicked, opened, etc.  These emails are being sent as part of a sales sequence. Currently, I do have links within said emails for things such as case study pages, videos, etc, set up in lead scoring. Including email clicks, and opens would add additional and useful information.

Hi Marty,

If you go to lead scoring (in Marketing tab under settings) you can hit the add set button to the positive or negative score columns. This opens a menu of filters similar to when creating a list.

Click "Marketing Email Activity" (This is in Marketing Hub so those are the tools I'll use but the process should be similar) and select contact opened/clicked email (whichever you'd like) and then select your specific email and then you can weigh the number of points given by hitting the pencil next to what defaults to a 1. 

An alternative to consider that I used as we didn't want to tie points to specific emails but engagement overall so we set up tiers. Such as Marketing Email Opened=1 was +1 point then if they opened 3 they got +3 and so on. I wouldn't do this with every number as it'll throw your weights off I'm sure but benchmark milestones but it depends how much you email and average engagement.

But does Hubspot allow you to factor in Sales emails (emails sent throught the Sales Hub by a sales person) versus Marketing hub? I have marketing emails factored into my lead scoring, but I have the same question as above. Would be great to also factor in responses to emails sent by Sales that are tracked in Hubspot.

Looking around I don't see Sales emails mentioned anywhere and I don't have access to Sales suite to check. I think because lead scoring is essentially "grading" leads so sales can prioritize which leads to attack first I'm not sure that the functionality exists currently. If not I'd suggest you create a thread on the Ideas board, the developers keep an eye on that for requested features.

Currently sales email clicks are not individually categorized, so the closest you could get is "recent sales email click date".

hey Jenny, 

is there any plan for HubSpot to implement it? We are looking for solution to prioritize people that actually answered our sales emails, so scoring opens/answers would be helpful.

I'd like to second this. Not only for sequences, but it would be extremely helpful to add lead scoring to sales emails. If HubSpot is capturing opens/clicks on sales emails, I'm not sure how that cannot be reportable. It would be useful to not only add lead scoring to contacts who are interacting with sales emails, but also downloading a list of contacts and see how many interactions they've had with sales over a time period. In many businesses, I have found email outreach from marketing email software has not been effective - companies are also getting smarter at blocking marketing emails altogether. We've seen our email deliverability greatly increase by sending 1-to-1 sales emails. Even for customer communications, many are not receiving emails when we send them out through HubSpot's marketing email option. These are people that know us and have opted in. The spray and pray method has been ineffective for years.
