non-hubspot forms dynamic css selector

SOLVE

Hi. I read the working of non-hubspot forms here https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/use-non-hubspot-forms#manage-date-inputs-in-non-hubspot-form-tex....
what happens if my css selector dynamic (id of form) is changed by my website builder or website framework everytime.

  1. Will it create duplicate non-hubspot forms?
  2. How to resolve this, since we don't have control over here to have a static selector?

Hey @Prabhu yes if the css class/ID changes it will create a new non-HubSpot form as there is no way to recognise it as the same form.

If you don't have the capacity to set a static css selector, then there's no way around this. I would recomend using Hubspot forms or integrating your form with a HubSpot form using the forms api.

@BérangèreL I've only recently run into this here in the community, where they reached the 10K forms limit because it was creating a unique form with each submission and @TomM2 was quick to identify the unique ID as the issue.

This is one of the main reasons that we replace non-hubspot forms with HubSpot forms for any external websites.

Hi @Prabhu, I hope that you are well!

Sorry for the late reply!

Thanks so much @TomM2 and @Jnix284 for your help on this!

Here is the "Submit data to a form" and the "HubSpot forms" API documentations that I think @TomM2 was referring to.

Thanks and have a nice day!

Best,
Bérangère

Hi @Prabhu,

Thanks for posting here, that's exactly why is the Community is here for!

I understand that the form ID is updated every time by your website.
What do you mean by "every time", is that after each form submission?

I'd like to share this article that might be of interest "Pop-up forms and non-HubSpot forms | Frequently Asked Questions".

I also wanted to invite a couple of subject matter experts to this conversation: Hi @TomM2, @Jnix284 and @stefen do you have suggestions to help @Prabhu, please?

I'd like to ask some of our Community Members: Hi @webidextrous, @jgreve, @ClareD and @nikolajovanovic have you been in a similar case as @Prabhu? Have you tested this before, please?

Also, if anybody else has anything to add and/or share, please feel free to join in the conversation 🙂

Thank you very much and have a great day!

Best,
Bérangère
