Using country code field for phone number

Does anyone have any helpful advice/tips for migrating to using the country code dropdown for the phone field on forms? We're going to be switching at some point and I was hoping for any insights. Thanks!

Hi @Aaron_Bolshaw,

 

Which concerns do you have exactly? You should be able to switch from the non-country code version of the field to the country code version easily:

In your form, simply click on the Phone number field, wait for the left sidebar to open and enable this toggle at the bottom of the sidebar.

 

This will encourage your website visitors to pick a country code but it shouldn't affect your processes (unless I'm missing context).

As far as the immediate change goes, you wouldn't have to do anything. Visitors would self-select their country code which should result in a higher data quality.

 

For existing values in those phone number fields, you could clean them up via either custom code in workflows, manual export and cleaning up in Excel, or integrations like Incycle. Unfortunately there isn't an out-of-the-box solution.

Can we use also "country code" feature at the "phone" field which we embed at our chatflows? We convert most of our leads with chatflows but since there is no "country code" function at "phone" field at chat, we ussually get incorrect numbers. Thanks.

Thanks for your help. What I've learned is that we're using workflows to automatically assign province/state in the address (for sales territory alignment), and we're trying to understand how this migration will affect those. Since the country code phone number isn't its own field in Hubspot data architecture, it's not as easy as that seems.

Thanks @karstenkoehler -- appreciate the input! yes, the setup appears easy, I'm more thinking of switching over from previously not using it. Any database considerations needed or suggested? Maybe auto-fill country by that country code, or similar?

Is there a way to pick the default country code? I have a business that does not do business in the US, and that is the default. It could cause some questions.

Can we show dr-down menu at the "phone" propert which we add to chatflow (we convert leads mostly from chatflows but users ussually doesnt add country code because they cant choose the country even though they can choose at forms. Thanks.
