Updating an existing contact with new form data via API

My website has several forms (using NinjaForms with a Hubspot Add On), each designed to add a unique piece of data to the database for a lead. It seems however that Hubspot won't update an existing record. This error resulted after filling out a form:

Result : Rejected by API. Contact already exists. 

What needs to happen for Hubspot to update an existing contact with new data?

I would contact the developer of the NinjaForms Hubspot Add On.

It sounds like an intergation error to me.

Thank you! You are correct. It turns out that NinjaForms currently does not support updating existing contacts.
