Two integrations, Contact form 7 and Hubspot. Differences, pros and cons between

SOLVE

Hello,

There are two ways to integrate contact form 7 and hubspot.

One is made by Hubspot for general use with various wordpress forms (including Contact Form 7)and operates automagically: https://wordpress.org/plugins/leadin/

The other is made by CRM Perks and integrates Contact form 7 wordpress plugin with Hubspot - which requires manual field mapping in the wordpress plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/cf7-hubspot/

Please tell me what are pros, cons and usecases of both?

Best,

Sebastian

Hey @SRudnicki,

So, the HubSpot plugin just installs the tracking code which let's you capture "Non-HubSpot" forms.  Ideally, you'd have as few of these as possible for a few reasons.

  1. Non-HubSpot forms don't track views to conversion ratios
  2. Non-HubSpot forms have to have their labels exactly match the property name or the data is not recorded in HubSpot.
  3. Non-HubSpot forms can create duplicates of themselves as you make changes to the site,  For instance, if you make a site change that changes the id or CSS classes on a form, you could wind up with multiple "Contact Us" forms.

If you have the CF7 plugin, you're solving for items #2 and #3, but you won't get #1.

Hey @SRudnicki,

That plugin by HubSpot is not a substitute for the Contact Form 7.  The HubSpot plugin does a few things.  At a high level:

  1. Installs the HS Tracking Code
  2. Adds the ability to add HubSpot forms to your site via shortcode
  3. Ability to create forms inside of Wordpress

Whereas the Contact Form 7 plugin sends it's form data to HubSpot, letting CF7 be your forms solution on the website.

@Bryantworks,

Thank you for your answer, yes there is also third option of using hubspot forms.

Let me rephrase. Hubspot plugin will capture entries from Contact Form 7 without Contact Form 7 hubspot plugin.

What is the advantage of configuring Contact Form 7 Hubspot plugin over letting the hubspot plugin capture whatever it is capturing?

Sebastian
