Pop-up showing where it should + our Videoask iframe

SOLVE

Hi!

We have successfully added a pop-up form to our website, but we have a videoask iframe in place - and for some odd reason, HS assumes the iframe to be it's own separate site and thus creates a 2nd popup inside the same page (in visitor's eyes).

What can we do to prevent this from happening?
(attached a ss to provide an example)

Pop-up showing where it should + our Videoask iframe

SOLVE

Hey @eklemetti

So I did some digging and I think I figured it out…

Navigate to Marketing > Lead Capture > Forms > *the popup form* > Edit > Targeting

On this view you can control the pages that the form will show up on.

My assumption is that the popup was applied to all pages, thus why it shows up in the iframe.

Click to "Add exclusion rule"

Then build a rule that says:

When: Website URL, IS "https://www.videoask.com/frofs2x8k" (the url of your iframed page)

Example view

Finally update the form.

If this was infact the cause then you should no longer see the popup in the iframe

 @eklemetti

To make sure understand the business case:

  • Given the site has functionality for 2 pop-ups
    When a user visits the site,
    Then Show the user a single pop-up

Does this sound about right?

Hi @Kevin-C , yes. exactly.
The current issue is that we get 2 popups, one inside the videoask frame in addition to the one we'd actually like to use - which will seem weird to people scrolling the site, since videoask is a embedded iframe, not a separate site.

Being unfamiliar with the videoask iframe, I assume that it is placed on the pop you created in Hubspot?

Pop-up showing where it should + our Videoask iframe

SOLVE

Hi Daniel, and thank you for replying (and @sharonlicari for tagging experts 🙂 )

The site is not built on HS, but WP. And the iframe is added via code:
<iframe src="https://www.videoask.com/frofs2x8k"
allow="camera *; microphone *; autoplay *; encrypted-media *;"
width="100%"
height="600px"
style="border: none; border-radius: 24px"
>
</iframe>

And for some weird reason, HS popup form recognizes that as a separate site deserving a popup of it's own, eventhough it does not have a separate page on our site.

There is an option in the pop-up forms edit menu to disable on small screens, this may solve it for you.
