Non-Hubspot forms collected without form submission (Ninja Forms)

I'm currently using Ninja Forms on a Wordpress site and have encountered a situation several times in which Hubspot will send me a form submission, but it is not recorded in Ninja Forms at all.

Is it possible that Hubspot is collecting this information if someone doesn't hit the "submit" button? Or is Hubspot somehow hijacking the submission altogether? Obviously, my next stop would be to research the Ninja Forms side, but I'm wondering if anyone has encountered this before.

Confirm that you're using Ninja Forms (< v3.0)

- see Use non-HubSpot forms

Hope that helps.

Frank

Hey @nateanderson  non-HubSpot forms work by scraping the form fields within the HTML and appending itself to the "submit" button. It then triggers a submission when the "submit" button is hit.

We cannot read any of your external form validation. This means, if a visitor doesn't fully fill out your form, or enters invalid information your ninjaform will not take a submission, but the form will still scrape to HubSpot. This can cause submissions to appear in HubSpot but not on the external form system.

If you want to ensure the submissions abide external validation you would have to create a custom integration using the forms api here: https://developers.hubspot.com/docs/methods/forms/submit_form
