Hubspot Form on Webflow Site Creates many duplicate non-hs forms

SOLVE

Hi - i have tried

1. adding an existing HS form to my webflow page and restyling

2. creating a webflow form and mapping the form to a hubspot form

either way, submissions create many, many Non-Hubspot forms. This means we are sending email automations or recognizing our leads all in one place. I cant seem to figure this out but basically want to have one email field on every webpage and one in the footer as well. I have tried to create a component and duplicate it but i cant even fix the main problem which is that i seem to never get form submissions in the intended form, and that there are "form reconversions" occurring nonstop.

@garrettwolfe installing the HubSpot tracking code on your Webflow website does not generate these spam submissions – it just makes them visible. Like I said in my previous reply, you would have to figure out a way in Webflow to restrict these spam submission, e.g. by implementing a honeypot or CAPTCHA solution. There are no settings in HubSpot for imported forms that could prevent this. HubSpot is really just on the receiving end of this.

As you can see there were nearly 1K submissions since midnight ET. Submissions look like the below. We need a way to stop this behavior.

Hi @garrettwolfe,

Have you considered disabling the capture of non-HubSpot forms and replacing these forms with HubSpot forms? https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/use-non-hubspot-forms#enable-or-disable-non-hubspot-forms

@garrettwolfe I understand what's happening but I'm not sure I understand your goal. Do you want these form submissions to be captured? If so, it would have to be turned on and you would have to review the documentation from my previous reply. Unfortunately, not all CMS are designed with those requirements in mind - which can lead to the mess you're experiencing.

Alternatively, replace your existing forms with HubSpot forms. If that's an option for you, I would recommend it.

Let me know if that makes sense.

i want all form fills to be captured obviously, but now im having trouble w variants. i dont even know why some of the forms were turning into non hs in the first place. i'm getting dozens of likely fake email signups per minute and dont know how to ensure they are real. (i know captcha doesnt work bc not an iframe).

@garrettwolfe did you review the article I shared?

It is not that forms turn into non-HubSpot forms, it's simply HubSpot's term for submissions it captures automatically, based on the rules outlined in the article. You could also call these imported forms.

@garrettwolfe I'm not following - what exactly is working now? What do the spam submissions look like? If these are not HubSpot forms, you would have to check the form settings in your CMS for span prevention settings.
