Since last wednesday (22th of march) there has been an exponential growth in traffic from Nigeria.
I know there are ways to filter out this traffic in analytics afterwards. Last year we experienced the spike in organic traffic from Czechia and the Seychelles.
Unfortunately these people do convert sometimes. It does have its impact on Google Ads (butgets). Is there way to block them before entering our website?
If that doesn't do the trick or you're getting a lot of OOC traffic from other sources you can also set up smart content rules on your HubSpot landing page(s) that hide the form for these visitors.
To block visitors from a certain country on your website, you can use a geolocation tool to identify the IP addresses of visitors from that country and block them from accessing your site. One popular tool for this purpose is Cloudflare, which offers a country blocking feature as part of its security suite.
To use Cloudflare's country blocking feature, follow these steps:
Sign up for a Cloudflare account and add your website to the platform.
Navigate to the Firewall tab and select the "Tools" option.
Choose "IP Access Rules" and create a new rule for the country you want to block.
Select "Block" as the action and enter the country code or name you wish to block.
Save the rule and test to make sure that visitors from the blocked country are no longer able to access your site.
As an example, suppose you run a website that provides information on crying babies. You may want to block visitors from certain countries if you have identified that there is a high incidence of spam or fraudulent activity coming from those countries. This can help protect your site and ensure that visitors can access accurate and helpful information, such as resources on crying in babies and how to soothe them.
