Help with Downloads

Hello - I am certainly not an expert user, but looking for some advice in how to provide users with downloads of articles and other tools off my website attached to articles....thank you!

Are you specifically looking for how to take article based content, such as a blog post, and make that downloadable? Or, are you looking for some advice on actually how to deliver a downloadable (ebook, whitepaper, checklist, etc.) once a prospect completes a form?

I hope you don't mind me butting into your conversation but this is exactly the tool I'm looking to add to my website - downloadable ebook/whitepaper content once a user fills out a form. Is this available with the free Hubspot Marketing tool or do you need to pay?

Hi @GiuliaC, 

You can do this with HubSpot free...to a certain extent. It is a great place to get started and get your feet wet with inbound.

There are however things to consider down the road. Using the free version you lack several components that will really make inbound perform for you. Two of the biggest are landing pages and marketing automation.

Often, the CTA/popup used in the free version just isn't compelling enough to actually get a high volume of conversions. When you actually use a landing page you can include more information that further peaks their interest on the offer. 

Marketing automation will work to support your leads through the buying process. After download, you can send relevant, helpful information related to the original download. You can also deliver additional related offers that are further into the buying process.

A bit, but just a couple follow ups. If these are individuals that aren't completing a form, how would you know who to deliver it to? Are you thinking an email blast to a list you already have or making the downloadable not gated for everyone to view?
