Form retaining last entry and every view is associated with the original Contact
SOLVE
Hello Community!
We use a lead capture form to gather contact info from visitors to our dealership. We understand that web browsers cache website info, including form entries. We know that this is why the lead capture form we use on our phones is caching the info of one of the previous contact entries, and that contact's info loads EVERY TIME we open the form.
We do use the "Not You? Click here to reset" button at the top of the form, and it will reset by clearing out the form fields, so we can enter the new contact info.
However, the first contact entered on the form is retained in the cache somewhere, to the point that EVERY TIME we open the form, that contact is listed as having VIEWED the Form in our Activity in the CRM.
So we have all of this extra activity on the contact even though they only viewed the form once. And Page Viewed is not an editable value so we can't even delete the extraneous activity from the contact record.
We can NOT clear the cache after every submission because of information saved in the cache for other pages that we NEED to use to do our business activities.

I think the form options you suggested will work for when we refresh the form, not to retain the previous entry's information. Thank you.
That's too bad about the email address in the form. We are in rural New Mexico and we do have people who do not have email. We'll figure out a work around, even if we just have to re-input their info manually after they submit the form.

Thank you, I'll try that!
An additional issue we're having is that not everyone who is visiting our dealership has an email address or wants to be contacted by email, so if no email address is submitted, then no record is created. We get the email notification with their information but the form submission entry says "no record".
I'm concerned that if we use something like none@none.com for someone without an email that it will just overwrite previous contacts that also had no email address.
We hand our ipad or iphone to the folks to have them fill out the info, so we don't always have control of what's inputted, and we don't have the email line required.

@GPCarlsbad happy to help – if your previous question is answered, please mark my reply as an accepted solution. I'll continue to reply here 🙂
Regarding your second question, this cannot really be solved without making the email field required, unfortunately. HubSpot simply cannot create a record from a form submission without an email address.
I would highlight in the forms consent notice text that:
Accepting the consent notice does not mean that they will receive marketing emails
Their data is used to process their request
Best regards!
