Form Global Functions

Hi,

Has anyone found a way to globally block competitors from filling out forms? Right now we are doing it directly on the form builder, but this is inefficent as we are building more and more forms.

Thanks!

Hi @ABarajas1,

No, there is currently no such feature to block competitors globally from submitting any form.

However, I don't think that's the right approach either. If a competitor notices that they can't use their business email address, they'll simply pivot to a temporary or freemail address – at least that's what I would do.

Instead, I'd recommend adjusting the workflows that deliver your content and emails to exclude competitor contacts, e.g. via an exclusion list based on email domain. You would have to make sure that the list has enough time to process, meaning at least a one minute delay at the beginning of workflows.

That way, the form submission will work, the competitor will likely not try any other email address, but they won't receive anything.

Best regards!

Greetings @ABarajas1,

This seems impossible. However if it is hurting or affecting the conversion or budget{if they are coming from paid campaigns}, then in Google ads tool and Meta campaign you can exclude their IP address to not to show the ads.

Additional help would to update in any custom property information for other team member that the contact is of "Competitor", after getting information from email domain. So that way you possible can save some reaching out effort to irrelevant contact. Also you can create a segment with you competitors domain, and possibly exclude in the your email marketing campaigns and can also use this as exclusion in workflow trigger if you are sending any Welcome or confirmation email via workflow after successful form submission.

Hope this helps, if it does then help the community by marking it as a solution.

Happy HubSpotting.

Thanks & Regards,
