Conditional logic for lifecycle designation from pop-up form

SOLVE

Hey all! In setting up a pop-up form for a lead capture on our website, I have set the designation to automatically set the lifecycle stage for someone who downloads it to a marketing qualified lead. However, we have a number of contacts (including return customers) somewhere else in our lifecycle that might still want to download it. If they do, then their lifecycle status would also get changed back to MQL and would be entered into an onboarding email series. Is there any way to avoid this by making it so that only new contacts receive that lifecycle designation and existing contacts retain their lifecycle designation even after downloading through the pop-up?

Hi @ryanfunkhouser

Lifecycle stages is designed to not move backward by default - so you are ok. To move someone's lifecycle stage backward, you have to clear it first.

Hope this helps.

Hello Phil,

Can you confirm if this is also the case for 3rd party form integrations via API or only for HubSpot Forms?
