We would like to create a form for capturing award nominations. The form should collect both the email of the nominator and also allow them to enter the email of their nominee. We would collect both in one list to inform of when the award ceremony will take place, but would also like to automatically email the nominee that they received the shoutout from their coworker.
What is the most efficient workflow for achieving this?
You would have to create an additional custom single-line text field to capture the second email address, then use a workflow to enroll the contact who submitted the form, then leverage the 'Create record' workflow action to create a contact record for the second email address.
In the workflow, you can use the 'Edit record' workflow action to label the enrolled record as the nominator, in the 'Create record' workflow action you can also specify that the about-to-be-created contact is the nominee. (You would of course have to first create a custom property to distinguish nominator/nominee.)
Once this workflow has processed the submitting contact, you'll have a newly created nominee contact as well. Both are clearly labeled and you can email them based on their role (nonimator/nominee).
Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!
