1 Form for all downloads

SOLVE

Hello -

I have a client that is adamant about using one single form for all of their downloadable content rather than a form per asset.

This is using Hubspot landing pages.

How do I best accomplish this?

TIA!
Asia

1 Form for all downloads

SOLVE

Hi @asiaferguson,

The form itself does not have be configured for this particular purpose at all. Simply place it on all of the pages where you want to use it.

The next steps depend on what exactly should be happening after the form submission. Do you want to display the piece of content on the thank you page? Do you want to deliver it via email?

If you want to display the piece of content on the thank you page and if you're using HubSpot pages, in the landing page editor you can specify which page the contact should be taken to after submitting the form - for each landing page.

If you want to deliver the piece of content via email, you would enroll contacts based on the form submissions, refine by location (page) and create one workflow per content piece.

Let me know which part exactly I should go into more detail for.

Hey @DeniseG1 Happy to share because it took me FOREVER to get it right. I created a workflow that was triggered based on Form submission. Then Form = Formname AND URL is equal to any of /path (be sure to add the slash) - also if you have a CTA that is the same form, but a different offering, be sure to also add AND Form name is none of ... and then select that Pop Up CTA.

It works great. The only complaint I have is that the logic doesn't work in a workflow Branch... only as a Trigger. So I have a different workflow for each action. (Workflow A is if they fill it out on Page A... Workflow B is if they will it out on Page B or C...etc)

Hi

I'm not sure how to configure a single form to allow for downloading assets on different pages. Do I need to use workflows for that, hidden fields, or something else? I've not done anything like it in Hubspot before.

I don't communicate directly with this client, so I'm not sure I can offer much as to why it is so important to them to use only one form for everything (I personally don't get it). They're basically wanting to move all of their gated asset pages from Webflow to Hubspot pages and use just one Hubspot form for it all.

Hi @karstenkoehler - I realize this is an old thread so hope you are still available to answer. I have a very similar situation. My client wants to use one content download form for all the different pieces of content. What they want is eactly like you describe below with a big exception:

"If you want to display the piece of content on the thank you page and if you're using HubSpot pages, in the landing page editor you can specify which page the contact should be taken to after submitting the form - for each landing page."

The big exception is that they are not using HubSpot landing pages. The forms are embedded in website pages. Given that, how can we specifiy which page the contact should be taken to after submitting the form?

Hi @LPeterson9 - Thank you so much for your reply! I am new to HubSpot (coming from Eloqua & Marketo) so I don't entirely follow but have sent your answer to my colleague who has been working in HubSpot.

One more question though: do you have have to input the exact thank you page URL into your logic? Or is there any way to tell HubSpot to use a varying field value? E.g., in Eloqua, we have a hidden field on the forms ("thank you page URL") that is automatically populated. Then we tell the Eloqua form to send form submitters to whatever URL is in the "thank you page URL.". We do not have to maintain a list - or put in logic that says "if form is on page A, send them to thank you page B", etc.

Hey @DeniseG1 - thanks for posting in the Community!

@karstenkoehler - do you have any insight on @DeniseG1 and team may be able to achieve this while considering that they're not using HubSpot landing pages?

I want to do this - one form. The page they submit from determines which email they get. I pick form submission status = filled out from X... then refine by page location... but it's forming me to pick Any Page and not allowing me to enter/select a URL.

How would the steps change if this form is being embedded into a Wordpress page?

Hi @asiaferguson,

Which issue exactly are you facing when using just one form?

If for example you're asking because you want to be able to send follow up emails specific to the content piece, you could refine the form submission enrollment filter in workflows by the page it was submitted on. That way, you could create workflows for each content piece with just one form.

In general I would say that an artificially imposed limit of just one form is a bit... strange? Where does this requirement come from? Why not rather think about the best process for a good user experience? Can you share more context about the reasons behind this limit?

Best regards
