Any workarounds for accessing private articles within the widget?

Hi, we want to move completely from Zendesk to HubSpot and the Support team are last to move. This is because of the lack of features with the knowledge base.
I was wondering has anyone got any suggestions of workarounds or alternative products we could integrate with HubSpot to get the KB functionality we need?
We are in stealth mode for the next few months, so we need all our content to be private, but we still want users to be able to access these from within our application ('learn more' widget access). We can do this with Zendesk but not with HubSpot, any workarounds?

@NLeahy does making the HubSpot knowledge base private and using the registration option (not password) work? You can have folks "register" with a simple landing page/form so they're cookied, and add them to the access list so they can get to it through your application that way. We do this for our online courses.
