Senior Technology Specialist

Role Description: This position reports to the Chief Operations Officer and assists with both daily operations of technology for the company as well as management of IT policies, procedures, and governance while leading the Technology and Data Specialists. The Senior Technology Specialist is responsible for assisting our managed service provider as well as our home office team with administering various technology platforms and ensuring their compliance.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Administrate several technology platforms used by the company.

· Manage/lead the Technology Specialist and Data Specialist team members in all areas of Technology and Data, including but not limited to onboarding, equipment, various reports and providing support/guidance.

· Implement and assist with creating technical policies for users to adhere to, such as defining and reviewing Written Information Security policies in coordination with the Chief Operations Officer.

· Research and implement automation of internal business processes.

· Automate business processes, such as pulling data from Excel documents and generating PDFs, using scripting languages such as Python.

· Coordinate feature requests and bug fixes with software developers at our vendor platforms.

· Respond to cybersecurity needs of the firm in conjunction with our managed service provider and COO.

· Support new platform and feature rollouts and ensure clear communication is sent to our field of representatives.

· Create journaling rules for email hosts to ensure archival of email addresses and mass-mailing email campaign platforms.

· Create and manage Microsoft 365 security groups, distribution lists, and email inboxes / hosting.

· Perform due diligence on new platforms and on-going due diligence on existing platforms to ensure they are acceptable for use both for the compliance needs of our industry and for general information security.

· Assist with FINRA branch inspection and audit requests that involve technology or cybersecurity concerns.

· Assist Chief Operations Officer with other technology-related projects, as needed.

Qualifications:

· Experience with writing scripts with Excel and CSV documents with languages such as Python and VBA a plus

· Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, and Office applications).

· Understanding of best practices for information security, such as those laid out in the NIST Framework.

· Must possess a service-oriented nature, excellent human relations skills, and a solid work ethic with a positive attitude.

· Must be flexible and adaptable within a transformational firm.

· Must have strong attention to detail and be able to switch gears easily.

· Ability to prioritize tasks and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

· Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing, especially the ability to break down technical concepts into layman’s terms.

· Must be able to make decisions and recommendations to benefit the firm.

· Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot through technical problems.

· CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ certifications are a plus.
