Digital Marketing Manager

Overview of Position:  The digital marketing manager is a part of the marketing and communications unit within a larger membership, events, and communications team at CAEL. This position manages the strategy for, and implementation of, key digital marketing and communications activities to promote CAEL's products and services, amplify marketing and thought leadership content, and to help support organizational membership goals. These include managing CAEL's social media platforms, email marketing campaigns, automated workflows and lead scoring, SEO, website management, and regular tracking and reporting of key metrics and KPIs. The individual in this role also serves as primary point of contact for managing and implementing CAEL's HubSpot marketing automation and CMS platform and Google grant ads accounts. Reporting to the vice president of marketing and communications, this position interfaces directly with various stakeholders via CAEL's general email inquiry account and with other teams across CAEL, drawing support from general marketing and membership team resources as needed.

Essential Job Functions:

Digital Marketing Execution and Strategy:

  • Manage CAEL's online marketing and communications for client projects and CAEL's own marketing and communications needs. Work directly with internal clients to determine goals and ensure timely and efficient delivery of marketing projects, including the reporting of results and outcomes.
  • Developing strategy for email marketing campaigns around segmentation of personas/channels, email lists, and content and design, as well as assisting with blog management support.
  • Maintain distribution lists and update information in HubSpot as necessary.
  • Growing social media following, and ongoing curation and creation of content/messaging designed to drive increased brand awareness and engagement among target audiences.
  • Determine best ways to use HubSpot platform to improve and streamline efforts, and act as CAEL's expert and Hubspot administrator.
  • Support marketing-related webinars, technical hosting of webinars.
  • Strategy, creation, optimization and budget management of pay-per-click ad campaigns on search engines and social platforms with Google Ads and CAEL's Google grant ad account.

Website:

  • Regular maintenance of the CAEL website, including ongoing SEO improvement efforts to optimize content, working to promote CAEL membership, products and services, research and thought leadership content, and drive increased overall website traffic year over year, maintaining a clear UX for visitors.
  • Working with the communications team, manage website content flow and the development and maintenance of static,  product- and/or project-related landing pages, including design, coding, and monitoring of any inbound and outbound or partner links.
  • Utilize HubSpot analytics and Google Analytics to analyze results of digital marketing efforts and recommend adjustments to management.
  • Develop and manage HubSpot online and subscription forms.

Metrics and Tracking

  • Help develop the marketing and communications team's annual KPIs. Perform ongoing results analysis; prepare and present quarterly reporting against goals for management and provide insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Track and report on Google grant ad efforts as well as paid Google ads.
  • Provide results data on individual email campaigns as needed.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Regular monitoring and management of CAEL's primary inquiry email box.
  • Track all scheduled digital communications in CAEL's communications calendar.
  • Support the membership team with any additional digital marketing support needs.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, media communications, or business preferred. Education may include both formal/ traditional as well as learning from life and work experience.
  • At least 5-7 years of experience in some combination of inbound marketing highly preferred, with emphasis on B2B marketing, email marketing, website management, and social media.
  • Must be HubSpot Certified.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; strategic thinker and problem-solver, a team player; ability to work independently.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proofreading skills helpful.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while producing high-quality end products.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented in support of multiple internal teams.
  • Ability to prioritize, proactively identify solutions, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Google Suite knowledge; prior social media and CMS management experience.
  • HubSpot certified, with strong familiarity with Salesforce and Adobe Creative Cloud.
  • HTML editing skills and an understanding of marketing and communications strategies.
  • Ability to learn new platforms quickly and assume technical ownership.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute digital campaigns that support revenue and membership growth.
  • Experience working directly with diverse audiences and clients at all levels.
  • Taking full accountability for time and deadlines in a remote environment.
  • Flexibility, as your colleagues are spread across time zones.
  • Additional duties and assignments as required.

Desirable:

  • HTML editing skills, Google Analytics and Google Ads experience.
  • Previous experience within a nonprofit and/or membership organization.

Travel Requirements:

This position will require the incumbent to travel between two - five percent (2-5%) of the time for business meetings with some overnight travel required. The amount of travel and expectations for the same are subject to change based on business needs and demands.

Typical Physical & Mental Demands:

Requires prolonged sitting with some bending, stooping and stretching; eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports. Also requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity and/or need to meet deadlines, and flexibility to readily adapt to a changing environment.
