In my previous job: counselling services, we used google forms for public. For corporate clients, we used data from sales team, customer services and also follow up calls.

Looking at LinkedIn and other platforms has helped me learn about buyer persona's. Also from what I have read, conducting face-to-face interviews will help to understand the reasons behind a buyer. This can lead to helping understand your target market.

In my experience social media especially LinkedIn and meta are very useful to create buyer personas. But one to one interview with customers and prospect buyers is the best.

Well, I had to segment the value proposition based on market research, because I'm in a discovery phase so I don't have any customers or data yet. I think I will use interviews with people who are in the segment and collect data to create and profit from the buyer persona. In my opinion you have left aside this hypothesis and considered that we already have the customers and all, but this is not always the case.

Linkedin has good information about job searches, business searches, and the like.  It can provide information about the products, services, and job leads that others seek.

Is it a good tool when you are entering a new market to use consumer studies done by a third party?

Social media engagement, group posts, and data analysis from Facebook and google ads have helped me build my buyer personas. A couple of days of talking with customers and analyzing data helped me improve whom to target and how to approach prospectors with close to or exactly what they wanted to know about the product or service they were interested in it.

The biggest success I've had, doing research to help companies, starts with social media listing, observing and highlighting the most common themes. From there, you can already get a stereotype to conduct a more direct and assertive approach, such as calling them. The calls seems the hardest at first, but they're actually the best. Listening to customers is really insightful. Another great way is to go to places where your potential customers are and give them a gift as an ice breaker. From there, you can conduct a direct research very open and honest. And finally, via email-plus-form also works well with some sort of gift at the end. These are some of my research experiences. I hope it can bring some help to those who are here. Warm regards, and I appreciate all of HubSpot's Academy's help.

There are so many difficulties - first know the product; then know the methods of communications - can they be automated?Once you determine the age group who will use your product then you can determine how to accumulate the information.  If the product is for customers your age you can use yourself as the profile.  If the customer is younger than you then use a niece or nephew and analyise them fro a profile.

I've used a combination of things. Formal, external agencies to develop segment segmentations. And also more informal things like buyer interviews, focus groups and own experience.

For my company, there has been no better way then having informal conversations with our existing customers or speaking to the sales team about the problems our customers are facing. This allows us to position our messaging to outline how we will solve our customer's problems.

Leads from the sales team that develop into interviews have been the most successful. We're also tried utilizing LinkedIn groups that focus on our (niche) industry. Its helped us reach larger, releavant audience while also engaging cold leads.

I've found surveys, client interviews, and discussions with my sales team all to be helpful. And more importantly I've found using more than one research method really helps to build the full picture.
