Which attribution model works best for your business?
One of the most common questions marketers ask when getting started on attribution reporting is which model they should use?
The answer depends on the goals of your team and the supporting analysis that’s expected of you. The important thing to remember is that there isn’t a one size fits all for attribution reporting: when in doubt use multiple models.
With this in mind:
Which attribution model have you been using or experimenting with to measure the success at your business?
If you haven't quite started with attribution, what are you trying to measure or track using attribution reports?
Which attribution model works best for your business?
1. **Last Click Attribution Model**: - **Works best for**: Businesses that rely on direct and fast conversions, such as e-commerce.
2. **First Click Attribution Model**: - **Works best for**: Businesses focused on building brand awareness where the first click is the most important.
3. **Linear Attribution Model**: - **Works best for**: Businesses that want to give equal weight to every customer interaction point.
4. **Time Decay Attribution Model**: - **Works best for**: Businesses where conversions are the result of multiple interactions over a long period of time, such as companies that sell high-value products or services.
5. **Position-Based Attribution Model**: - **Works best for**: Businesses that want to give more weight to first and last clicks, such as marketing campaigns that rely on both initial awareness and eventual conversion.
Analyzing business data and past experiences can help determine the optimal model. You can also try multiple models to see which gives better results.

I have not used any attribution recently but I would use depending on the kind of task I will be doing. For example, if I am working with an ed-tech platform I would use first and last touch model to analyze what made new users come in and what made them purchase the service.

I havent quite started on my attribution, so to look at what I would be wanted to track based on prinova which is a global compnay, I would most likely use last touch attribution because of the tracked record with a lead to a closed won deal, it would track the conumsers that come to the company and actually makes a purchase.

for a holistic view of marketing assets efficiency, I rather use a linear/full path Model; though, a first touch model would be more meaningful for a lead generation compaign assessment...
