What’s an example of an effective content distribution goal?

There are several reasons marketers will distribute their content. Some hope their content will drive traffic to their website, while others hope it’ll help generate new leads.

Setting a content distribution goal is the foundation to building a strategy that drives results. This is accomplished by understanding the purpose behind your distribution efforts, and making your goal SMART.

What is an example of a content distribution goal you would like to set?

Remember, a SMART goal is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound. To learn more about this, check out the Developing a Content Distribution Strategy lesson via HubSpot Academy.

The goal for my business is to build awareness of the brand through Instagram by gaining 3,000 followers and averaging 300 likes per post. This would be done by providing educational information to my target audience while making post engaging for viewers to share their experience and ask questions. By having these interactions, a community around digital marketing would naturally form creating the desired following and interacting the business needs to grow. The process will start over the course of 6 months with reviewing reports at the end of each as to adjust the strategy as needed.

A good distribution strategy will be well-timed to the different events surrounding the content creation. You should always strive to promote trending and fresh content, not something that’s old news. For example, before launching their first phone, One Plus ran a ‘Smash your Past’ campaign where people had to smash their old phones and record a video to get the new One Plus One for just $1. They had made a list of devices that would be accepted as part of the channel. Now, if they had planned the campaign ahead but executed it after the launch, it would have been unfair to those who already put faith in their new phone and bought it at the actual price. Likewise, if you’ve written a blog post on the top content marketing trends for 2022 and start promoting it only after half the year is gone, you won’t get any benefits from it.

I hope to one day be able to start a business wide podcast, because it is my understanding that podcasts are what is very popular right now in the social media world. I think many people could benefit from the podcasts I would try and have my team create, as it would be a business oriented podcast, and there is lots of information to retain if you're somebody like me that wants to get more educated on the subject of corporate marketing. This could also create another form of cash flow, as we could possibly get monitized by youtube, or spotify, or wherever the podcast would be uploaded to. This is all just me hoping something like this can happen, so who knows! But this is my content distribution goal that I think could benefit many parties involved in the process.

I would like to have 100 listeners to my online music program within the next two months. I currently am in the rudimentary stages of creating my own show, and would like to begin with a smaller goal of listenership in mind as I grow my brand.

Recently, I began to analyze data from previous adverts on FB. I found that our audience were more female than male and the ads that received the most responses were gaming items. To obtain more leads, I decided to concentrate on gaming items as well as some party games.

I feel that adjusting according to your client's interest is a sure way to gain more leads.

I feel a goal of even 25 successful leads is a very practical goal since adapting to the trends and interests is more than vital.

One of my distribution channels is YouTube, and my primary goal is to increase the number of subscribers I have on it. I want to reach buyers in their awareness stage; therefore, I will post content addressing problems common to my target audience. I will establish a video-uploading goal based on data from previous video trends on my channel. I will review metrics weekly to determine the effectiveness of my strategy. My target is to grow my subscriber base to 5,000 in six months. Growing my channel opens up other options on the YouTube platform that allow me more engagement with my market; thus, my ultimate goal is to have other options on the platform to engage with my audience.

An effective content distribution goal would be a specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) objective that aligns with your overall content marketing strategy and helps you achieve your business objectives.

drive organic traffic to your blog through high-quality backlinks. Measurable: get 30 new backlinks from authoritative websites. Attainable: getting 30 new backlinks is achievable since you already receive 20 monthly without a content distribution strategy.

Wanting to better the quality of leads over the next two quarters by optimising blog content that responds to early interest queries. We can understand what are the top common qualifying/disqualifying service needs from sales call transcripts and develop targeted website and paid content that educates leads on our market placement. By allowing leads access to this information, they will likely be more educated of our service offering prior to arranging a call with the sales team, which will offer us more quality leads to engage with.
