What's an example of a buyer persona with corresponding buyer's journey?

Buyer personas are key to creating a successful inbound business. Each buyer persona has his or her own journey to making a well-informed decision (i.e. buyer's journey).

The buyer's journey is comprised of three stages:

  • Awareness Stage: The buyer becomes aware that they have a problem.
  • Consideration Stage: The buyer defines their problem and considers options to solve it.
  • Decision Stage: The buyer evaluates and decides on the right provider to administer the solution.

Name a brand that you're a buyer persona for. What does your journey look like to doing business with them?

Fannie Farmer owns and runs a CSA. Each year she hits a high level of frustration a large percentage of her CSA fails to renew a subscrtiption to her farm. Fannie Farmer doesn't exactly know why they aren't renewing but suspects she needs to do more to educate her customer. Fannie Farmer would like to provide more service but doesn't have enought time.

Awareness: the buyer is aware of low productivity, few blocks are produced compaired to required amount as per his client order.

Consideration: The wants machine that can produce 6000 blocks a day compared to 2800 blocks which is done by a manual block machine. At this point an automatic block machine will be required to meet the goal.

Decission: the buyer evaluate if a machine from China or UK will be great fit depending on quality, price, and lead time. The buyer also evaluate transaction safety and warranty policies

Awareness Stage: No growth in sales, in fact changing industry and increasing awareness of technology the sales are going down. New entrants are coming with marketing automation tools, sweeping the leads away.

Consideration: Starts to look at the ways to increase the customer base, what channels should they be looking at? Website is outdated, update it or get a new one.

Decision Stage: After looking at a number of research, internal discussions on the proposals delivered, the best vendor gets selected

What's an example of a buyer persona with corresponding buyer's journey?

Awareness Stage: The buyer needs a CMO or marketing leader for their business, but the budget is limited.

Consideration Stage: They have identified that they need a marketing leader to drive their business, but by hiring a chief marketing officer, it's always difficult to find the right person and the overall recruitment cost is high. Therefore, they are looking for alternative solutions.

Decision Stage: The buyer evaluates the pros and cons of part-time, and interim, and makes a decision on our marketing leadership-as-a-service solutions.

What's an example of a buyer persona with corresponding buyer's journey?

An example of a Buyer Persona in corresponding with the buyers journey is that the buyer persona can represent a stage of te buyer's journey. For example, Incoming Ida can represent an incoming college freshman who is trying to learn more about a college's business department.

Buying Safety Management Software

Awareness: I am aware that osha has job regulations that change over time and that my business could be audited at some point in time. I have to make sure my employees are up to date on the latest safety standards and protocols for our industry, but it's pretty time consuming for me to make the slide shows and demos and keep up with all of the changes within osha.

Consideration: I'm looking at new regulations on osha to see what applies specifically to our industry. There's a lot to read and the information is conglomerate. I'm looking at other websites that offer trainings, and youtube videos but it's hard to find something specific and reliable for my industry. I find that there are safety management suites and begin to review each one and all of the features.

Decision: I found a company that offers safety training that's up to date and is pretty accurate and relatable to my industry, their product was the best fit and I feel confident having my staff train under their safety procedures.

Brand: Flonase

Awareness stage: Experiencing excessive coughing and sneezing every time I brush my cats. Researching it to realize that I might have developed an allergy to my cats' fur (dander)

Consideration stage: Researching possible solutions to reduce or eliminate symptoms such as, antihistamines, air purifiers, allergy shots

Decisioning stage: trying out financially feasible options. Antihistamines were not that effective but Flonase did the trick.

Name a brand that you're a buyer persona for. What does your journey look like in doing business with them?

M.M. LaFleur

Awareness Stage -  I need a blazer that will fit extended-size women that will provide me with the best quality I can afford for my budget ($300) that is three-season, timeless, and classic for work and after work.

Consideration - research well-known brands for quality that offer extended sizes, M.M. LaFleur is one brand but my research may reveal other brands to consider, as well as larger retail stores to shop in (i.e. Bloomingdales or Nordstrom)

Decision Stage  - I've narrowed down three brands after doing research on products, prices and most importantly reviews.  MM. LaFleur is a top contender because I know their quality, am a current customer and they have some items in my budget. I will contact the brands to see if they have a personal shopper to assist.

One of the personas we have in VetrinaLive is small business owners. In the awareness stage, we create content about their revenue and profit problems. We explain that most small business cannot grow their revenues. With the inflation, their expenses increase and profits drop. We talk about this and they love to see what we talk about.

I need to be more sucessful at pitching my content to interested blogs. I research using google for blogs that would be interested in my content. I find a writer's database that also acts as a content management tool from creation to publication. I test drive the service and find that it could help me create and pitch content to interested blogs in less than, than using google alone. I purchase an annual subscription.

What's an example of a buyer persona with corresponding buyer's journey?

Awareness:

As a buyer I am experiencing a problem and my goal here is to alleviate that pain. My problem for the purpose of this exercise is a lack of consistent processes, unorganized teams, and poor collaboration for managing projects at my company.

Consideration:

By now I have defined my problem and identified that the company needs to streamline its processes for projects to enhance communication, increase effective planning, and allow for cross-functional teamwork.

During this stage I am researching various solutions to solve for the company's problem to understand all available options - for example, I may type into Google "how to automate or streamline projects" or "how to improve project planning and collaboration".

Decision:

At this stage I am comparing products and understanding the available solutions based upon the overall goal. I am compiling a list of solutions, narrowing it down, and making a final purchase decision. I may even opt to sign up for a free trial if offered by some companies to gain a better understanding and hands experience.
