My current role is Marketing Manager for a social purpose organisation. The organisation specialises in science education, creating supports and resources for science teachers. I recently stepped into a marketing and comms role and am starting to think about how I can apply the different decision and persona stages. My strength is my creative skills and design background - I work visually and enjoy creative problem solving. I'm currently reading The Best Science Writing of 2023 and Inspired - a book about creativity. It will be a relief when we have a CRM to place any leads when they surface.

Hi, everybody. I'm Tom. In a recent past life I did digital direct response in the B2B space, primarily Email Marketing and CRO. 

re:  a project you've worked on that's inspired you
Years ago, a peer identified an under-served - but large, and very deserving - audience in the B2B space. I was on the launch team and played a role in developing a go-to-market strategy for the business, including messaging and positioning, both on the its website and via various email series to our audience. The business was profitable on day 1 (not counting overhead & salaries...but we did everything in-house and none of us were overpaid) and remains a profitable niche for the company to this day, albeit one that never achieved the types of run rates we were envisioning in our very heady and enthusiatic launch meetings (what can I say other than - we were both inspired and taught to think big. LOL!).

We provided them with online content and assets they needed to do their jobs better and grow their careers.
