What makes inbound sales different?

Inbound sales transforms sales to match the way people buy. It's all about meeting prospects where they are and helping them move toward a purchasing decision. Is this different from the way you're used to approaching sales, or have you been doing sales in this way but calling it something else? Leave your thoughts in the comments about how inbound sales is similar to or different from the way you've been doing sales.

What makes inbound sales different?

The "Inbound Sales" model enables us to listen to the customer; learning what they need, what they want, how they need it, how they want it, why they need/want, when they need/want, and ultimately how they need and/or want to buy it.  When we listen, we learn.  We then just need to walk with the customer along "their" journey (not ours).  They will lead us to the signed contract and the paid invoice.

What makes inbound sales different?

I think what makes inbound selling different is that it gives the salesperson the opportunity to interact and get to know the customer throughout the process. When customers and salespeople meet through social contact, salespeople can provide customers with products and introduce them to them in a targeted manner.

What makes inbound sales different?

Inbound sales is designed around the buyer: their needs, their problems, their goals and it is about creating an EXPERIENCE as they are led to the solution

What makes inbound sales different?

Inbound sales are all about the buyer's needs and attention and in that it differs from outbound sales or cold calling which insist on rushing to a product's presentation (solution) directly to a potential buyer without really considering if he could be an active buyer.

inbound sales is all about the buyer’s needs and concerns. Rather than interrupting what people are doing and trying to make a quick sell, with inbound sales you build your sales strategy around buyer's needs. You integrate your sales strategy with the natural buyer’s journey instead of trying to work against it. It is a long-term play

What makes inbound sales different?

inbound sales approach tries to identify and solve the problem of the prospect. This is different from the regular sales process where the prospect is offered a product to buy even if it is not fit for the prospect.

What makes inbound sales different?

I suggest looking at the inbound methodology as a whole to understand the difference.

Inbound is about attracting people with helpful content and personalized experiences. The role of the inbound sales rep is to be the subject matter expert. They should help people better understand topics of priority and be able to think long term.

Traditional sales is about getting people to buy your offer.

An excellent inbound sales strategy attracts potential clients to our product & company. We don't need to chase after them anymore and focus on providing them with a good experience.

I think what makes it different is that it is less aggressive than its counterpart outbound sales, it gives the buyer the opportunity to understand their problems and become empowered in a way that makes them make the correct buying decisions.

What makes inbound sales different?

Inbound sales is completely different than traditional sales process. Beacuse in traditional sales we have already soultions for them an all we do is pushing our options towards them to make sales. But in inbound sales we need to build win win relationship with the potential customers and indentify what they really need and provide solutions for them. I think inbound sales is about providing more personalize experience to customers/clients.

Inbound Sales is relationship based. It basically relies on building long-term relationships with customers. Consequently, inbound sales reps should be skilled at maintaining ongoing communication with customers and providing ongoing support and assistance.

For me both outbound as inbound sales, at least for my company maturity, has merged in a consultative sales approach, with the biggest difference being the buyers being in different stage of their journey. I think that a more Inside Sales just directs the focus to someone who is already seeking a solution and are the easiest to see value in your solution, witch at least for a market in crises as we are now, will be the least amount of people. So I believe it is just part of a sales strategy plan, and one that should not be favored, but used with, outbound sales.

The inbound sales strategy transforms salespeople's relationship with potential buyers from a sales focus to an advisor focus. Allows proper understanding of the prospects' needs and motivations. From there, it is possible to point out what problem or improvements the customer has and provide a tailored solution that the customer knows they need.

Inbound Sales is relationship-based. It relies on building long-term relationships with customers, rather than simply making a one-time sale. This means that inbound sales reps should be skilled at maintaining ongoing communication with customers and providing ongoing support and assistance.

Inbound Sales is more about helping the potential buyer feel that they are taken care of by putting trust in the journey, in order for them to believe that they will be provided correct solutions to their challenges/goals. It's all about getting that trust to initially move forward and then actually showing buyers why it's the correct company to help them succeed in the future.
