To get started, say hello and introduce yourself. Here are some questions to help you get started:

  • What's your current role?
  • What industry do you currently work in?
  • What's one tactic you recommend to closing more deals?
  • What are you hoping to get out of being a member of this study group?

Hi! My name is Anna-Sheree Victor. I currently work with Lab 916, I currently working in Marketing & Sales. I have a background in retail sales and a couple of things helped me close deals, asking questions about a client's needs and listening to how the benefits we provided could suit those needs.

I hoping to gain further insight from this group and try other methods to have a better closing rate!

Hi my name is Karen and I am a course advisor.  A tactic to close more deals is to be responsive to the customer, ensuring the product meets their needs and ambitions.  I have just joined a new organisation and they use Hubspot so I need to learn ho to use it.

Karen
Here is the thing about Hubspot, if your organization is having you use it the first items is to have your email recording all the info to hubspot so the chain is recorded.
I would suggest that you also take the time, create a pattern of follow thru with the recording in HubSpot.
The more you use it the more you will enjoy the process, its just clicks

Hello! My name is Nicolas Ream. I currently am Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Montana Heritage Home Builders, Inc. I work in the construction industry. One tactic I recommend to closing more deals is remembering the details about the person the deal is being made with. I hope to gain much from being a member of this study group, including learning tactics from my fellow community members. Nice to meet everyone!

@NicolasReam  Are you talking about there background, role, title and experience or what they want to accomplish from purchasing the product? I like to ask 1. How can we make you look good? 2.How can we make your boss and your team look good? 🙂 It usually elicits an interesting response. Go, @NicolasReam , Go (fist bump)

Hi! I'm Ross Timlin. New to this group and the use of Hubspot. Long time Salesforce.com user. Currently consulting with a company that subscribes to Hubspot, so I want to learn enough to be productive and communicate my progress to them, through this Sales tool. We sell a SaaS offering. Users tend to be the Sales Team (Architects, Engineers involved in the Sales process). In order to close more deals, this may be obvious, but you need to find prospects who want to change and acknowledge having gaps that need to be solved in an agreed to timeframe. Good luck folks!

Great Morning, I am the NSM for my organization. What I would like is a list of the terms your using for the actual drop down menus. The meaning of the words and how they are applied to the HubSpot activity is more than confusing. As they are not stardard industry sales terms I need to educate my team on a whole new vocabulary. Please send a "dictionary link" so I can get folk onboard.

Howdy everyone! My name is Christian Colegrove and I work in Sales Development. I'm the Growth Specalist over at iuvo Technologies, a forward thinking IT Company in the managed services realm. iuvo's focus is on it's people-first culture and average 22 years of experience per engineer to provide top-notch support and permanent solutions to a wide-array of businesses.

As I'm new to sales, but know the managed services realm, showing the value of the services we provide is a key to winning over new clients. We tend to be a bit more expensive than other MSP's, but the services we provide and the experience we bring to the table are there to back us up. The overall tactic should never be being the cheapest, it's about being the most valueable to growing your customer's business and about adapting to their growth as well.

I'm hoping to gather the necessary sales tactics needed to be the best version of myself within this role. Going from a tech and then procurement manager to this role will most definitly be a little bit of a learning curve.

Hello

I'm currently in sales and looking to improve my ability to communicate and persuade through this study group.

One tactic that has helped me is to ask clarifying and probing questions when prospects talk about their challenges "what do you mean by "x"" or " how has that impacted you personally though?"

Hi All,

I am Colin. I have been a Hubspot Partner since January. We are a sales and marketing agency working across a variety of industries.  My one tip to close more deals is to listen to your customers. Listening to your customers is the key to looking after them and winning business. I am looking to meet other sales professionals and identify opportunities where we can help each other. Looking forward to it! Colin

Hi my name is Jaipreet Kaulsay. one tactic to close  more deals, I would say is by persuading customers with the knowledge. the knowledge comes from the product description, the background of the company, the benefits of the products that can give value to customers. when a staff is communicating and sharing this information, customers intention of purchasing will be high as they are being persuaded. hence, customers will build trust with the staff and the company.

Being a member of this study group, i hope to learn more on ways to attract customers and pull them to us.

Hello! My name is Jason and I own DrinkMaster. We host Virtual Cocktail Making Team Building events for companies, teams, and groups throughout the country.   We pivoted our business during the lockdown by hiring a chef and shipping team to package and ship craft cocktail ingredients kits.    I've found that success comes from building a deep genuine commitment to your customer's experience and success.   Drive your satisfied customers to leave earned reviews and ask for referrals.   I'd like to utilize the tools here to organize and coordinate our workflow and pipeline to better assist our clients, drive repeat business and drive referrals throughout a companies teams and departments.

I recently acquired a digital magazine and launched digital marketing services at this company. I look forward to learning how to catapult sales using HubSpot!

One tactic to closing deals that works for me is ensuring my clients I genuinely seek to understand their painpoints to help identify and aticulate them effectively. Whether I have the best solution for them is secondary.  Only when I KNOW their issues can I confidently offer a solution  that helps address their poblem.  Another one is helping my customer quantify their problem often helps understand and appreciate the value of a solution to it.  For example, how many customers/business must they generate to get a payback or return on their investment.

I am establishing a team and need to implement clear sales processes.  Any and all guidance on tips and tricks to convert leads into deals closed would be very welcomed!  Also I could use help in helping to convert a laborious sales process of in-person visits  into phone-based (and even better) online sales.

Hello. I am embarking on a new career path with digital marketing courses at K State. Formerly I worked in the medical field for aproximately 20 years. One tactic I recomend to closing more deals is to know your audience. Don't assume anything. By joining this group I hope to hear and see other point of views on everything we cover to widen my knowledge and jump start my creativity.

Hi! My name is Ian Mangan and I am a Marketing Coordinator at Wessler Engineering, a civil engineering firm that focuses on water, wastewater and stormwater projects based in Indiana and Ohio! My recommendation is not focusing on the close of the sale itself. Focusing on a deal when it is in the early suspect/prospect stages is what will nurture that deal into a great partnership. By focusing on the partnership early on, it should make the close of the sale the easiest part of the sales process. I am hoping to learn more about HubSpot's sales tools and general sales processes, so I can learn to utilize our CRM to the best of its abilities , assist our Business Development team better to address their needs and provide them the tools to succeed.
