How do you identify active buyers?
The modern world has a lot of ways for salespeople to find active buyers. What's your favorite way to identify the people who need your product? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
I would check the interests they show on their social media and what I think is a need for them, and then I would offer my product or service to this posible customers.
Still working out a solution as I'm new to it all, but our market is slowly moving towards biotechs and we've been very successful with startups for example. So networking with VC's and biotech heads and sharing blog posts about how our company has done certain items to help those types of companies succeed, but not sharing via DM. More just sharing via linked in's main page. Shows that we're there and broadcasting to a certain audience.
Social Media. Engagement with potential buyers. Being aware of the market/industry trends & tools used to understand what type of need the potential buyer might have.
I work for an internet company, so my best way to identify active buyers are by active leads from my company. I go through each lead to see if any of them has active service set up already. If they do not have active service I look at the demographic of the area to see the best time to contact the customer.
1) One way I identify people who need my product is by asking them after meeting them "by the way, (insert value proposition). NO one will buy if they don't like you. (this is assuming you're in the right venue for this convo)
2) A second way is by asking potential buyers of any pitfalls that they themselves have experienced the hard way. If you can make a connection to that pitfall with a client you've helped previously the conversation will open up faster than before.
(again this is assuming I don't have the right lead in front of me).
I like two approaches in order to identify active buyers:
1. Actively participating in social media to slide my way or my reps way into relevant conversations, blogs or threads of potential buyers by sharing or interacting with the community at hand.

2. Following up with customers on how their experience to their solution was with us and asking if they know anyone else my be interested for us to help them reach their goals or resolve their challenges.
through media conversation will be able to conduct need assessment and be able to know exactly the immediate need, then will be able to offer immediate solution.
We need to understand what are the key points to be taken care as Business problem. The active buyers are those who are stuck in business problem somewhere.
Yes! Every product solves a problem, and so many salespeople wrongly assume that every single person has that problem. They don't! And while the salesperson is wasting time talking to people who don't have the problem, the people who do have the problem are needlessly suffering! Find the people who need your help, and then swoop in and save the day!
I run a lot of lead generation campaigns on social media. Whenever I receive a text or call, I am always interested in knowing what issues the lead is facing. If it is related to what am offering then i educate further. Even passive buyers I always educate about our service offering.
