How do you connect with leads?
Connecting with leads can be hard. Even when people are interested in your product, they're often busy or have competing priorities. How do you get to that first conversation with a lead? Share your tips and tricks in the comments below!
To initiate that first conversation, we personalize our outreach and provide upfront value. We use multiple channels, craft compelling messages, follow up consistently, and leverage referrals and connections.
I begin my initail conversaton with lots by oonecting with the potential prospects on a human level and having a warm up converastion. A warm up takes as long as it takes..Dont rush into the explore phase in your initial contact with the prospect.
Using a number of difference approaches, which would firstly involve reaching out to the prospect via telephone (whether this involves picking up the phone or calling inbound/outbound leads) or via social media (i.e. linkedin, twitter, etc).
Personalising emails, referencing the prospect with open-ended questions, with an intent to help/add value. (This method could be beneficial if unable to get through to the prospect via telephone with the first initial attempt).
Further to the first point of engagement, scheduling a meeting or a follow up phone call to begin the 'explore phase' in order to understand more about what help or information they are looking for.
Overall, paying close attention to detail, listening clearly (to any pain points/challenges), and working to fulfil the prospects needs.
I prefer calling first as this increases the chances of connecting with the prospect. Email and social outreach are secondary means. It is always good practice to open up the conversation by leading with context and a genuine interest to help the prospect overcome their challenges.
Ask the questions you want to be answered by listening to your prospect. Everyone is busy in today's world, so not wasting their time is key. Being personal but sticking to the agenda set by the meeting goes a long way. Structuring the conversation to get your and their points covered but also having time to engage on a human level.
A great way to connect with leads is ensuring that you present the product in a way that is personalised to the potential buyer. Listening to the lead and providing helpful information will add to your credibility, increasing the potential to move the the explore stage of the sales process.
By using a multi-channel approach, personalizing your outreach, providing value, asking open-ended questions, being persistent but respectful, and following up, you can effectively connect with leads and increase your chances of converting them into customers.
Pay more attention to the surrounding environment and the way of dialogue, try to avoid too many meaningless mistakes, express yourself clearly and collect enough data within the scope of your control.
Not a sales man, but if I had to get to a conversation with a lead, I'd first try to leverage possible tactics to get that lead to learn about me as much and as positive as possible before reaching out, and in a way that appears casual or non-intentional. Then, I think the trigger event ocasion seems like a winner tactic to me, since you get the chance to come out with a clear value proposition from the first moment onwards.
Wow, that is pretty great @OGarcia98 especially someone who is not in an official sales capacity. Daniel Pink wrote a book and the premise is everyone is in sales
