zoom info connection error

Our zoominfo and hubspot are connected currently.  When I attemped to open a zoominfo contact in hubspot via the button in zoominfo I get the following Hubspot error:

Couldn’t complete the connection
Authorization failed because you don't have permissions to authorize the scopes required by the app. Please contact your super admin to get the necessary permissions.

Do you  have any idea how I can fix this?  We cannot find any guidance that helps.

Thanks in advance,

Michael

Hi @dhohmeier, I hope that you are well!

Thanks for asking the HubSpot Community!

I understand that you are trying to install the "Zoom info" integration and you are getting this error message:

"Couldn’t complete the connection
Authorization failed because you don't have permissions to authorize the scopes required by the app. Please contact your super admin to get the necessary permissions.".

I can see on this article "Connect an app to your HubSpot account" that users must be either a super admin or have App Marketplace Access permissions to connect apps to their HubSpot account. In some cases, further permissions are required to connect certain apps.

Also, did you follow the steps below if you don't have the right permissions at the moment?

If you do not have the needed permissions to connect an app, click Request to install.
In the dialog box, click the Administrator dropdown menu and select an account administrator Then, click Send email. The selected account administrator will receive an email with your request for the appropriate HubSpot user permissions to connect the app.

Let me know if that helps @dhohmeier!

Have a wonderful day! 🌞

I am experiencing this same Zoominfo error with my sales reps. The only solution that is working is making them Super Admins, which is definitely not ideal. Turning on Marketplace permissions alone did not resolve the issue. Has anyone figured this out?

Hi Jill,

I think I figured it out! I have a rep who couldn't export contacts from Zoominfo, but now he can. Try going to your Zoominfo Admin Portal, then go to the "App Integrations" drop-down and click "Integrations". It should have all the apps that are connected to your account listed. Find HubSpot and click the three dots under "Actions". Click "Settings". There should be an "Export Preference" section- make sure you have "Service Account" selected. This will prevent users from having to connect their HubSpot account to make exports, so you shouldn't have to make anyone a Super Admin to connect moving forward.

Thanks for this - super helpful! I will made this change in Zoominfo. Now I'll adjust the rep's HubSpot permissions back and see what happens...

Hi Pam,

Thanks for getting back to me.

When I attempt to connect hubspot with zoominfo I get a pop up message from hubspot:

Couldn’t complete the connection

Authorization failed because you don't have permissions to authorize the scopes required by the app. Please contact your super admin to get the necessary permissions.

My admin thought he enabled all of the needed  permissions so we are trying to figure out which one is not enabled that is required.

Hey @MLee429, thank you for posting in our Community!

The error indicates that the ZoomInfo integration requires permissions your HubSpot user role doesn’t have. You’ll need to check with your Super Admin to ensure the necessary permissions are granted. If the permissions are correct and the issue persists, can you provide us an example?

Kindly,

Pam

Hi,

Did anyone ever find *which* permission option needs to be enabled for this to work? I'm reviewing all the options and not sure which setting in permission controls this.

Thanks,

Danielle

Hi Danielle,

That's what I'm trying to figure out- I have a sales rep trying to export contacts from Zoominfo and he's getting this connection error. If I find the solution, I'll add it to this thread.
