What social channels are you currently using?

As a social media marketer, it’s crucial you determine which platforms you’re going to share your content on. There’s not necessarily a right or wrong answer when it comes to which social channels your business should use — it’s more about the needs of your target audience and where they tend to spend their time. With that in mind, which social channels are you currently using and why?

I am currently utilizing Instagram and Tiktok because it is a great way to expand reach and bring awareness to our product.

You may not even believe this but I worked for a motorcycle "leasing" company that did not believe in brand awareness and the use of social media. Buying personas were clearly using Linkedin but C-suites did not want to use it. Total shame!

We haven't yet really dove into Tiktok yet. Most of our marketing efforts are within Meta. I think this could be a problem for markeitng to Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

The past two companies I've worked for focused on almost solely LinkedIn. Since they were B2B HR tech companies, focused on Talent Acquisition and Recruiting decision-makers, it is definitely where the target audience is -- and definitely proved itself in ROI to that effect.

My main social channels that I use for a daily basis would be those broadcasted by meta.

Besides among other from differents platforms like Instagram or LinkedIn.

My customer persona is for built to attract new small business owners looking to grow through automation. She spends her time learning and browsing inspiration which is perfect for professional yet creative content. Currently, I’m active on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn. — each chosen for specific strategic reasons:

  • Instagram: Visual storytelling and motivational Reels.
  • Facebook: Long-form posts, success stories, and eBook ad campaigns.

Admittedly, I am not huge fan of social media; however, as a marketing tool, I see the benefit and internally I fight with it every day. At present, all I use is LinkedIn for personal marketing (academia mainly). It is my hope in the future to utilize platforms like Facebook and Pinterest, because--from people in my life--I see the amount of content they absorb from those channels and I can see how they'd help my future marketing.
