Hi everyone, I need help when it comes to tracking leads from an event that we sponsored.
Prior to my current position, we'd get a list from an event, I would clean it, upload it to HubSpot (which was integrated with Salesforce) and then track the leads via the Salesforce Campaign. These leads also existed in a HubSpot List.
At my current company, we only use HubSpot as our main CRM so I am having difficulty uploading external lists and being able to track them back to that specific event. Any suggestions? So far I have tried creating a campaign and uploading the list to it but it doesn't seem like HubSpot has this functionality to track leads.
I also tried the Marketing Events functionality but that only offers lead statuses "Registered, Attended, and Canceled" which are relevant in addition to the statuses I'd like such as Engaged, Saw Demo, Visited, etc - the statuses that make the most sense when engaging with someone at a conference and then helpful for sales when following up with that lead and personalizing their outreach.
Otherwise, you'd need Marketing Hub Enterprise (or any enterprise subscription to access custom objects) or a third-party integration/app to fully customize your event data.
Custom Objects would be the most robust solution, which is what event.hapily leverages.

Thanks for the response here, that link was very helpful! I guess where I am getting stuck is being able to upload a lead list and have them marked with the proper status, meaning I'd like to mark them as something beyond attended or registered.
Awesome, this was really helpful! So I created a property called Status and uploaded the statuses I'd like. When I upload a list, will I know be able to attached one of these properties to each contact I upload? Image attached.
Hi @Nmusich yes, it would be easiest to add the "Status" column to your import CSV to add the value to the contacts directly - this will let you use the data you have to append the contact record with the new value for the status.

Hey @Nmusich, thank you for posting in our Community!
I would suggest creating custom properties that align with the lead statuses you mentioned, such as "Engaged," "Saw Demo," "Visited," etc. You can then segment your leads based on these properties to track their engagement levels more effectively.
I want to invite our top experts to this conversation, @Jnix284and @OBunyulaany suggestions for @Nmusich matter?
Thanks for the response! Is there a way to ensure all leads are collectively leading back to the event though, so we can tie where they came from? Right now I am using a campaign and then uploading the leads, but it doesn't seem to be functioning the way I need it to in order to track leads from events, their statuses, etc.
