Pitfalls to Avoid When Creating Landing Pages
Creating and optimizing landing pages is a crucial step in your lead generation efforts. What's a common mistake I always see and try to avoid? Not having a second offer or CTA on the thank you page.
It’s a smart move to keep your primary offer nice and clean on your landing page and not confuse people with multiple CTAs. However, once you’ve given the promised content to the lead, you are wise to garner their support by asking them to do something whilst they are "hot."
I always suggest making sure you utilize the thank-you page to place another CTA or offer. For example, you could ask people to share the content via a Click to Tweet link.
A common mistake to avoid when creating landing pages is not including a second offer or call-to-action on the thank-you page, as it is an opportunity to engage with the lead further while they are still actively interested.
Unclear CTA: Make sure your call to action is clear and persuasive. Information Overload: Keep the page focused and concise. Poor Design: Ensure your page is visually appealing and user-friendly. Inconsistent Messaging: Align your landing page with your ad or link. No Testing or Optimization: Regularly test and optimize page elements. Ignoring Analytics: Use analytics to understand visitor behavior. Lack of Trust Signals: Include testimonials, reviews, and trust badges.
Make sure there is enough content to grab the attention of the reader and that creates a desire to go forward - over design or not clear messaging can become confusing and could make the reader to leave the page.
