I'm new to HubSpot and I'm a little overwhelmed. What is a good place for me to start? Thanks

Hi - I am new to HubSpot and have to admit to feeling overwhelmed. I am taking this course to get certified for a Digital Marketing Certificate. What is the best ways to work through all of the topics? And would any other people have any suggestions on how they used the platform to get the certification.  Thank you in advance.

Hi @DDeFrancesco and @MMcCann9, it's perfectly normal to feel overwhelmed when starting to work with HubSpot for the first time.

I highly recommend exploring the Resources below each of the course videos to access additional resources to extend your learning:

The slides can be helpful for looking up stats and key facts that you might want to remember for the exam.

You can also download the study guide here:

Whether you like digital notes or printing to take notes on paper, it's helpful to have an overview of what the course will cover so it's not the first time you're seeing the terminology in the videos.

If your focus area will be in the Marketing Hub, handling things like the website, SEO, social media, blog writing, email, and list importing/creation, I highly recommend starting on HubSpot's lesson on "Understanding Marketing Hub" which you can access here:

Depending on what your goals and uses of HubSpot are, you can search their academy for almost anything. Start with your goals. How do you hope to use HubSpot? Then check out HubSpot's lesson on "understanding" that topic. For example, if it's email, start with their lesson on "Understanding Email Marketing" or "Understanding Email in HubSpot." They'll give you a great overview of how to use their platform. HubSpot has a bite-sized course or full-fledged certification on almost everything! 

I also recommend clicking around HubSpot to see what you find! Here are a few topics you can navigate to by nav tab (as a marketer, here's where I'd recommend getting most familiar with):

Marketing: Email (Blasts), Website, Social Media, Blogs

Contacts: List Creation/Importing

Workflows: Email workflows (and everything else automation!)

Hi,

Hubspot Academy provides an excellent starting point to learn about the platform, however I also recommend that you consider what you want to get out of Hubspot?
Before you take a deep dive into a long course, consider watching some of the shorter overview videos/training course. I hope that this helps.

Thanks Pam. We are still in the oboarding phase. I'm working on diagraming our marketing process. I'm trying to find examples.
