Re: Components of an Optimized Email

In order to convert more leads from your email marketing, you have to first get your readers to open your emails, and click through on them. This is why, as email marketers, we’re all but obsessed with our open rates and clickthrough rates -- because increasing those metrics gives us more opportunities to convert our readers into leads.

So how do you optimize your emails to ensure you’re audience is excited to open and interact with your marketing emails? What advice would you give?

For example, one of my favorite ways to optimize an email is through personalization! Show your audience that you understand their problems and that you are there to help them solve them.

In that way, personalization goes beyond addressing the email to the person’s first name. Leverage the demographic and behavioral data you have about your readers by including it in your emails.

You can use their company name, their location, their role at their company, the pages they’ve viewed on your site, items they’ve previously purchased, and so much more. Be creative! Mass marketing isn’t effective anymore. Find ways to show your readers that you’re customizing your message to them.

Basically your audience will be happy with an email he expects and is relevant.

The layout and language you chose has to fit, and can be adjusted to the demographics of your audience (make personas).

The Subject is what people read first so make sure you get that right (Personalize Subject).

Also the preview text (in the settings tab) is a handy one for mobile devices as you can add a personalized message to the email.

Don't bother with A/B testing subject lines! We have not yet once gotten a clear winner! We've tried so many different variations.

Interesting subjectline, Content should be simple and small with less images, which customers understand easily.

I agree that personalization is one of the more powerful tools.  I am integrating emails into almost all of my workflows - thank you here, a confirmation there, an action reminder in their inbox.  Just ensure that all of your emails - every single one - is pertinent and timely.  We lost thousands of subscribers through communication that was not relevant.  Now we check and double check the content of messages and ensure that it is arriving to the right person at the right time.

Preview text and subject line are very important components as they will attract people. Also the scoring of the subject is important so will not hit spam! Another thing to have in mind is to keep emails simple with clear content and  CTAs buttons

Your emails should be about your prospects -- their pain points and what solutions you can provide. Keeping your emails short & straightforward, for me, increases open rates. It also triggers need, which could be immediate or future.

The preview text and subject line are important components in getting your leads to read your email and the body of your email should be concise and on-topic at all times. Highlighted headlines, bullet points, and other elements should be included. It must be simple to read. The more straightforward the message, the better.

For newsletter, I like to give a sneak peek at what the content is so they will have an extra incentive to check out the email.

Go straight to the point. Incite attention with subject line, follow suit with your preview text and kmake sure the content of the email is the same as what your subject line and preview text preach.

Avoid too much content. Keep it simple and backed with a clear CTA button.

One way that I like to optimize my emails is to make sure I am getting to the point. Potential and current customers do not want to have to read long emails. They want them to be short and sweet. I also think including pictures of whatever it is that your company does is beneficial.

The subject line and preview text are huge! If you can't snag their attention there, then you've lost.  I can't emphasize how important preview text is... we were using a platform that didn't have an intuitive way to put that preview text in, and when we were able to include it, we saw much higher open rates and higher engagement and overall conversions using the same email content simply by adding preview text to the email.

Your email subject line is super important if you want people to open it and interact with it. Spend some time considering what your subject line should be. Also, the email should have relevant information for your intended audience.

Of course, with every email, make sure the overall layout and design is eye-catching, yet not overwhelming. Keep the email language casually professional, using proper grammar and spelling. But most of all, make sure the message is clear and consise so that your customer isn't overcome with information.
