Could this be higher on the prio list? It sounds like a very basic feature.

We have a lot of number fields that are used in calculations on deals, typically while say 5 values might be used, only 2 or 3 will typically be populated at any given time.  Right now we have to require that our team manually fill in 0 for each field that isn't used, but it would be a huge benefit to the user experience to default the values to 0, so they only have to update the fields that are being used.

C'mon HubSpot.  This is an essential feature and CANNOT be hard to  implement!

This is a really important requirement for us. We have set default module prices and these need to be pre-defined in a deal object upon draft creation - before the deal gets saved - so the sales rep can then tweak as necessary. It's too much hassle for these values to blank at this point.

Would love to see this feature would make the workflow much easier.

Having to select the same industry property over and over again is soul destroying.
I'd LOVE to set the default property before I start loading a new set of customers into hubspot.

Raising my hand to upvote this.  Raising both hands for two upvotes.  Being able to set/assign a default value right there in the property creation tab would make my life 48.3% easier

Also bumping this, can we please get this added in? Using workflows seems like complete overkill here

Currently implementing customer support ticketing in Hubspot and would like to set some default values to keep our agent's time waste to a minimum. About the same scenario, we have some properties that almost always are the same, and would like to help our agents by them only having to change this in the few cases where it is actually needed. Might seem like a small matter, and in some ways it is, but we have also had to tell stakeholders quite a few times now that certain simple things can't be easily achieved in Hubspot. It creates resistance where there ought not to be any.

I should probably add, this is in the internal "Create record" form.

Bumping this as well to get fixed.

Fields, especially those that are used in calculations should not be set as null by default. Any number fields should default to 0 or let us choose that option when creating.

Throwing in my two cents to help get this kicked up the Product Team's board! This feature would be helpful for internal HS usage.

Yet another user pleading for this to be implemented, in order for us to use calculations effectively. Pretty please!

2x times a day I find some standard CRM functionality not available on Hubspot. But this one is so flagrantly ridiculous... the fact that it is not yet implemented, and this thread is three years old... This seriously calls into question whether Hubspot is an option for even the most basic CRM use cases.

@a_funs i did find a workaround after that does seem to work well - just takes effort for such a basic thing - and doesn't solve not having pre-filled fields in forms.

They recently released 'event'- based workflow triggers. So you can trigger a workflow on object creation. Since we also have a data sync creating objects I filtered those out. Then had several actions to set a default value upon object creation for the fields that need it.

It still requires a lot of effort and maintenance for each object and the biggest downside is that upon form creation this doesn't pre-fill default values. But it works for properties that are 'hidden' in the form.
