Idea: This idea is for users of the HubSpot Sales Outlook Add-in who often need to add additional associations when logging emails. These are associations that go beyond the automatic links to the email recipients, such as linking the email to other companies, deals or projects.
At the moment, when you want to add these extra associations, you first have to choose the object type and then search within that specific category. This slows down the process and requires several unnecessary steps, especially for users who work with multiple record types.
I propose adding a unified search field in the associations panel. Users should be able to type the record name directly, and HubSpot should display matching results across all object types. This would make it much faster and easier to link an email to the right records.
Example: Current workflow:
Open the associations menu
Select the object type, for example Companies
Search for the company
Repeat the process for deals or any other record type
Suggested workflow:
Type the record name once
Select the correct match, regardless of whether it is a contact, company, deal or any other record
This improvement would streamline the process of adding additional associations and provide a more efficient experience for Outlook Add-in users.
