It would be good to be able to use the filter options grayed out below in workflows of calculated properties. Use case: Company pages can have multiple different custom object Xs associated. A company's associations to X often use the same association label. Some X and company associations are 1-1, others are 1 (x)-many (companies). Company information needs to be copied to X upon association. 1st workflow (company based). Trigger, # of associated Xs is known. The company info is intitially copied on restricted properties in X via a company workflow for all associated Xs using the same association label. 2nd workflow (custom object-based) Trigger: Trigger property is known. (Property set by associated company as it completes workflow 1.) Ideally, the second workflow would only enroll an object X if number of associated companies was updated in the past day. Instead, it runs on all associated Xs of the company and the workflow requires filtering that isn't always as intuitive as filtering at the start would be. Repeated unnecessary enrollments can also affect reporting and cause end user frustration when trying to view workflow history in the activity feed. The info is filtered and moved out of the restricted properties and into visible properties.* *Direct copy into the visible properties is not done because associations are 1 (x)-many (companies), so format data is used before updating the property.
