HubSpot recently released Operations Hub data sync, which has been super useful in integrating our marketing automation platform (HubSpot) with our CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365). And while useful, the data sync tool has a lot of room for improvements. Specifically, an error/status log is absolutely essential. Currently, the only feedback I receive as a user creating a data sync between two objects in different platforms is a success message when the data sync is turned on. This message appears even if the data sync is completely broken from a field mapping perspective. And right now the way the HubSpot-Dynamics integration works is that if even one field is throwing an error, the whole record refuses to sync (and fails silently at that, due to a lack of error/status feedback). A specific example is that in Dynamics, a text field is given a 20 space character limit. If the data in the mapped field in HubSpot has more than 20 characters, it will break the sync for that entire record. I didn't find this out until 2 weeks after the original "failure" (wherein several more records failed to sync), because as far as I could see in the tool, everything was working successfully. A log of sync events, including errors, warnings, and successes is an essential feature for the data sync tool.
