I would like to suggest the addition of a Search Function that Admins can point at particular fields. It would be represented as a standalone fuction on a card.
Scenario:
I have a client who has a list of brands they work with in different categories. Those brands also have sub-brands. We cannot use company associations as they often have no direct involvement with the companies themselves, or the Company is not necessarily representative of the project. E.g. Hotel Chain Head Office is associated with the Deal, but Hotel Chain Sub-Brand 1, in a particular location, is where the sale is made. And Hotel Chain Sub-Brand 1 does not have it's own Company, because they operate purely from Head Office. So we have:
Categories - 12 Brands - Approx 20-30 for each Category
Sub-Brands - Approx 10-30 for each Brand This is a minimum of 2,400 drop-down selects, maximum of 10,800.
Ideally we would like to be able to search the two fields together, Brands + Sub-Brands. Selecting the relevant category already conditionally surfaces the relevant Brand column, however one must know the Sub-Brand is part of the larger Brand group. Sometimes this is obvious, but more often this is not. Sales Teams are not always aware the company they are working with is a sub-brand of a larger group. The search function could work thus:
- Category is selected
- Brand + Sub-Brand boxes appear (an option of what properties to surface/display configured when setting up the card)
- Search box appears above these two properties
- Type in "Hotel 123"
- Search looks in both Brand + Sub-Brand - Checks the option from the Sub-Brand property that matches the search, because "Hotel 123" exists on this property
- Applies logic to select the relevant option in Brand, because "Hotel 123" is part of "Big Hotel Group 123"
