This would be very beneficial for Developers, as it would give us the ability to store and use all our email event data for our own analytics & development. For Many Developers, the goal is to utilize the email event data for our own data analytics. Hubspot even provides a common use case (from their Email Event API): "A member of the marketing team at your organization wants to optimize email campaigns.. You can use the Email Events API to gather data and power a machine learning model that determines the best time to send emails to different contact segments." A webhook would be a much preferred solution over the current Email Events API, as data would be sent to Developers automatically, versus basically having to make tons of Email Event API calls for each email that was sent out, as the Email Event API requires us to request for each individual campaign and recipient. Many other email senders let you add a webhook endpoint to which they post any and all email events such as delivers, opens, clicks, spam for every single email. One such example is SparkPost, who even allows you to customize the events being passed to the webhook.
