Requirement.
If a deal property is set or updated, automate the addition of specific line items (i.e. a group of line items) to the deal.
Use case.
A business has a service offering that is always comprised of the same "group" of line items.
There may be multiple service offerings, each with their own group of line items that need to be added.
Rather than needing to add the same line items to the deal each time to generate a quote (or invoice), a workflow can be set up to add the line items, once the service offering is selected on the deal record.
An example.
For a mechanic completing a "WOF Service", there may be a group of line items that will always be added to the deal, e.g.
- Flush Valves
- Hoist
- Mechanic Time.
Some will have a one off base cost against the line item, others may be hours based.
If each of these items can be added to the deal record by automation, if a dropdown like "Service required" is set to "WOF Service", we don't need to remember each element to go into the quote, but, we can also edit each quote's hours for the different line items as required, without having to remember every single line item to be added.
