It would be helpful to be able to use currency exchange rates as normal properties. Currently there is one Hubspot property called "Amount in company currency" which automatically convert "Amount" to the company currency based on the exchange rates provided. I would like to create a similar property myself. In my company's case, we differentiate between Sale Price (="Amount" property) and Commission ("Commission" property, created by us). A "Commission in company currency" property would save time in converting the commission amounts.

We've recently created a "Teams" custom object to represent accounts in our app. We would like all Contact and Company object activities (e.g. calls, notes, emails, etc.) to be automatically associated with the corresponding "Teams" record.

Deal, Contact, or Custom Object page's UI is not customizable (unlike CRMs like Podio or Salesforce, where I have more flexibility), and the only way for me to add buttons or other things would be to use the CRM extensions that appear on the side of the page. CRM Extension works perfectly for core entities (Deal/Contact etc) but does not support Custom Objects and that's the only way I have to actually customize the page with actions that my team can perform to 10x their performance.

Hi I'm a developer. Currently I'm setting up an integration from a payment transaction database to be sync to HubSpot. I used custom object to be able to associate "Payment Transactions" to Deal and allow the Sales to easily see the payments made by the lead within the record. But generating reports directly from the custom object is quite difficult especially since process multi currency payments. Being able to have a currency property within custom objects would be great.

We have a custom object called Subscriptions, and we auto generate a subscription from a deal workflow during our customer onboarding process. The Subscriptions object is connected to our admin page through the HubSpot API, so the account data is always current. Some times we have to create a new deal for an existing customer, and we can auto generate this deal using a combination of properties and workflows. When I try to use a workflow to create the deal, I don't have the option to associate the new deal to my custom object Subscriptions. This is unlike the default objects where I can easily associate the contacts and company from the existing deal to the new deal. Having this ability helps me trust that when my team revises a deal, the deal is properly associated with the subscription.

We are a franchise and require our locations to enter their stats. We have created a Form that when submitted creates a Custom Object and Associates it with the Contact. It is also supposed to Associate with the same Company the Contact is associated with. This made sense as the locations would be submitting their stats on a Monthly basis and we need this process to be recurring with over 200 offices across 2 countries. Unfortunately, the only way to make this happen is to add in the field of Company Domain Name to the Stats form. This is not an option for us because most of our clinics have their own websites in conjunction with the ones we created for them, therefore each location may have 2 active domains working to drive new patients to that location. Not to mention a lot of these locations also have Independent Contractors that run their own business inside of the main business and therefore they may have yet another website for that location. Associating the Custom Objects with the Contacts solved the Independent Contractor stat's issue and now we can provide support based on their entries but we would still like the stats to Associate with the Company so that we can have a full overview of the Company.

We have a file property type that you currently have to copy and paste a file location into. Can this be changed to have the same functionality as when you add an attachment? This would be far more user friendly

Hi, We're very excited with the release of the custom objects. On creating these we found that we cannot change or set the label of the default properties "object create date" and "object modification date". It would make sense that those labels would be something like "car create date" (for an CO about cars) or "UFO modification date" for a CO about UFOs. As an example, on top of the list view, it would be nicer to see such a label, rather than "object create date". 🙂 Thanks!

I've recently had the opportunity to tangle with both Marketing Events and Custom Objects. My idea that comes from that experience may not be universally popular, but I think could improve the support of both concepts. I'm struck by the counterintuituve special cases that plague the implementation/documentation of Marketing Events - and the contrast of how gracefully many of these issues are handled in the integration/use of Custom Events across the rest of the platform. For example: Availability of full object property editing, including group creation etc. in the logical settings menu Properties area. Marketing Events just don't show up here and they would be much more useful as fully integrated objects that could be extended in various ways. Immediate visibility of associated Custom Objects in Contacts/Companies etc. screens - including full preview etc. is very compelling. The full integration of all Custom Objects listing/filtering in the menu system under the same head as Contacts/Companies etc. The Marketing Events feature feels awkward and incomplete by comparison. Copying properties between standard and Custom Objects is simple and seamless inside workflows. By contrast, the special case app-centric workflow options to take action for Marketing Events seem very clumsy. The Beta API calls for marketing objects seem crude and arcane compared to the full set of APIs to manpulate Custom Objects. And the list could go on, of course. My plea here is something along the lines of co-opting a "standard" Custom Object to serve the role of much more general Marketing Events support in those variants of the platform that can't create Custom Objects for themselves. I suspect that a full focus on Custom Object support would give an improved experience for those functions without dilution of developer effort into the cramped and inconvenient special case of Marketing Events. It would also give an 'upsell" taster for the added value that comes from full the Enterprise platform option. I hope this commentary is useful.
