Hi, Currently, you can individually merge and also mass merge Duplicate Contacts and Companies in HubSpot via the Merge Duplicates section. It's great, but there is one ideal functionality that is missing: the ability to determine what is the Default Master Record. Currently, in the Merge Duplicates seciton, you will see a table of Contacts that can be merged. You can merge two Contacts at a time, and they are labeled in the table as "Contact 1" and "Contact 2". When you click the Review button to manually merge these Contacts, HubSpot will show that it will favor all of Contact 1's values during the merge by default. Thus, Contact 1 is the Default Master Record. If I want, I can manually tell HubSpot that I favor Contact 2's values for Property A, Property D, etc etc. It's all well and good. However, the problem arises from the fact that, in many cases, Contact 1 has no values in many vital fields, including email, name, primary company, etc, while Contact 2 has all of the vital information. And there's hundreds of Duplicates to manually go through. I do not understand how HubSpot determines that Contact 1 is the Default Master Record in this instance. Perhaps it's because Contact 1 is older? In any case, I want the ability to determine which Contact is the Default Master Record myself. Ideally, I'd personally determine the Default Master Record based on how many vital Properties have values in them. Or better yet, when manually or mass merging, have use logic criteria to determine which Contact to to favor when merging a certain Property. Once again, personally I would at least base this on the fact that one Contact has a value for Property A while the other does not. Right now, when performing a Mass Merge, HubSpot allows me to choose which Contact record to keep based on: "Most Recent Engagement", "Oldest Engagement", "Created First", "Created Last", and "Most Recently Updated". However, this can easily select the Contact that has zero values inside of the vital Properties I'm worried a out. Cloudingo, a 3rd party tool for merging duplicates for Salesforce, does a great job of this. Just about everything is customizable. Of course, Salesforce itself generally **bleep** at duplicate management. --- Thank you for your time
